iPhone 3D racing game Orion Racer

Orion Racer has finally been released! Created by Techlogica, this is a futuristic 3D racing game which is available on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

The game features 10 unique tracks and 4 drivable vehicles. Four different modes of play are available: Tournament, Single Race, Time Trial and Bluetooth Multiplayer!

The vehicles and most of the other graphics were created by me, while Kyle White was in charge of the programming. This is the fastest racing game on the iPhone, so check it out!

Upcoming iPhone Racing Game: Preview #1 (Vehicles)

January 12th, 2010 at 11:37 pm | Posted under: Techlogica, News, Games

iPhone 3D racing game preview

This is the first of several previews which I will be posting on my blog regarding Techlogica's futuristic 3D racing game for the iPhone. The image to the left shows two of the vehicles I have designed for the game.

As of today, I have completed the design of several vehicles and racetracks, while Kyle White has implemented a fully-functional 3D game engine which runs smooth as silk on the iPhone!

Top lap times will be saved online, so you will be able to compete against others for the best time. The game also has unlockable tracks and cars, so it should keep you busy for a while :)

The game features exhilarating, fast-paced racing, so all of you adrenaline junkies out there should be thoroughly satisfied! Preview #2 will contain images of the racetracks I have designed for the game. Stay tuned for more updates!

Tonight I began updating many parts of the site. The biggest change is the addition of new stock image galleries, and a new design for the existing galleries. Other misc changes will be made throughout the site as well (the homepage now has a new look!) Hopefully the updates will be completed by tomorrow. Stay tuned. :)

Updates to Techlogica's Icon Design Portfolio

July 16th, 2009 at 1:48 am | Posted under: Techlogica, Icon Design, News

Today we finished updating our icon design portfolio, which now includes many of the more recent projects we have worked on. A bit of older stuff was also removed. We have been quite busy working on projects for our clients over the last few months, so unfortunately that has kept us from updating our site as often as we would like (and it's kept me from posting on here, too!)

Icon design by Techlogica

Here are a few of my favorite icons from this update. I created the Chess pieces (for Chess.com), while Kyle White created the Rx bottle and Wrench icon. Both of us worked on the smaller 16x16 icons. I've made thousands of these little things, and somehow I never get tired of it!

Techlogica website redesigned!

April 25th, 2009 at 10:01 am | Posted under: News, Techlogica

The Techlogica website was recently redesigned, and is now easier to navigate and has a much more modern appearance. The last time the site was redesigned was in 2007, so this update was long overdue.

We had hoped to update it sometime last year, but for some reason all of our clients keep coming back to us for more design work :) and that has kept us quite busy!

The biggest change to the site is the completely new layout, which features a simplified navigation system as well as a totally new color theme. We also revamped the icon pack preview images, and the custom icon design sample images were also remade.

In case you're keeping track (and I am sure you are! :), this is version 7.0 of our website. The site has undergone many changes since 2005, and if I am honest I can admit that some of the older versions didn't look so hot. I really love the new site though, and I hope you'll like it too!

If you want to check out the new site, you can see it here: Techlogica's homepage.

Favicon created for the site!

February 2nd, 2009 at 6:08 pm | Posted under: News, Icon Design

Today I created a favicon for the site. My goal was to create an icon which contained the letters "A" and "H", but I couldn't quite seem to fit them in the way I had originally planned. So, I had to get a little creative.

Favicon for my site

My solution was simple; I combined the two letters together, and I think it worked great. The first version I made used lowercase letters, but it didn't look quite as clean, so I went with uppercase letters instead. As far as color goes, my site uses quite a bit of orange so I thought that would work best in this favicon.

I know some of you may think it looks a little odd at first. If this is the case for you, then you must sit and stare at it for 5 minutes without blinking. I promise you will like it after doing that.

So, please leave a comment and tell me what you think! I hope you like it as much as I do, and at least I can say it's better than the new Google favicon. (yuck)

Site updated: Now you can post comments to my blog

January 31st, 2009 at 7:35 am | Posted under: News

Over the last week or so I have been working on a lot of updates for the site, and they are now live. The biggest change to the site is the addition of the comment system for my blog, which features my own basic implementation of a CAPTCHA. If you read the article, you'll see it was probably a waste of time, but hey at least I learned a thing or two.

Also worth mentioning is that I have added support for Internet Explorer 6 (on second thought, maybe it's not worth mentioning). At first I had decided to ignore this decrepit browser, however, there are simply too many people who still refuse to make the switch to a modern web browser. So, even though it turned out to be a headache, my site actually looks fine on all the major browsers (thanks to Kyle White for some help with that).

To those of you still using Internet Explorer 6: Please switch to Firefox for Pete's sake! It's free, more secure, and you'll run into far fewer problems while browsing the web. Trust me.

The site is finally live!

January 24th, 2009 at 5:02 am | Posted under: News

Well, it took me quite a while, but I finally got my site online. Making a website from scratch sure does take a lot of effort, but once it is complete it is very satisfying to see the result.

Why exactly did I make it from scratch, anyway? Well, it's because I love a good challenge when it comes to creating things. I get a lot more satisfaction out of making something on my own like this. It's how I've always been. Sure, I could have just used Wordpress or the like, but writing my own blog framework really was more fun :)

In the near future I hope to add much more to this site, such as free icons, programming examples, opinions on random topics, and maybe even interesting product reviews. I will of course also update my portfolio as new projects are completed.

So, stay tuned, because much more will be coming to this site in the near future.
