My education

If you're wondering which university I went to, well, the answer is none. I am completely self-taught, and very proud of it. I dropped out of high school in the 10th grade, and I don't regret the decision in the least. I have always preferred the challenge of teaching myself how to do things, and I have to say it has worked out great for me. I always seem to do things differently than most people anyway. It makes things interesting.

In addition to teaching myself the ins and outs of Photoshop and Illustrator, I also learned many programming/scripting languages along the way (which helped quite a bit in making this website!) The bottom line: I love education, but I prefer to do it on my schedule and in my own way.

Icons?

So how did I get into icons of all things? Well, the previous paragraph should explain it a bit; I had always dabbled in creating software as a hobby, and when I was in need of some icons I would just make them myself. It turns out that I was pretty good at it, and after some time I discovered that creating art is a lot more fun than programming because there are never any bugs to deal with! :)

First law of Graphic Design: All designers must use a Mac.

Right? No. I have been using Windows since version 3.1, and I always enjoyed it much more than Mac OS. Windows has always been very reliable for me, and it has far too much great software and games to ignore. Couple that with the fact that I always build my own systems, and you get a guy who loves PCs.

As a graphic artist, Windows gives me all I could possibly need; Photoshop, Illustrator, and one of my old favorites is Paint Shop Pro. Mac OS may look great, but that isn't enough to make me switch. I love the choices I get with Windows, and I could never live without a real taskbar :)

13 Years?

I got my first personal computer in 1996, when I was 15 years old. The first thing I did when I got it was pop in an AOL 2.5 CD and try to go "Online". I've been on the internet ever since. However, there was one thing that I never got around to doing until now; and that is making my own website. Why did it take me so long to do this? I really don't know, but finally I have my home on the web.
